Thomas Stein Bio

Thomas Stein has more than 20 years of broad-based experience in project, program, and executive operational management.  Mr. Stein has successfully managed large-scale complex operations throughout the world.  He recently established a North American Business Continuity Plan (BCP) for a Fortune 100 company.  This effort established a program to improve business programs, processes, and protect the company’s core business functions.

Prior to entering corporate America, Mr. Stein was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Marine Corps specializing in the subject areas of Information Technology, Logistics, and Aviation.  As a program manager he has held some of the highest achievable positions and designations in his field of expertise.

Mr. Stein has received numerous awards over the years: 

  • A top performer in his field he was selected and awarded a full scholarship for graduate studies in Information Systems and Aerospace Systems. 
  • In 1995 he received recognition by President Clinton for software development in the areas of human resources and application development. 
  • In 1997 and 2001 he received additional recognitions for his outstanding performance in aviation and logistic program management. 
  • In 2004 he received the 2004 Award of Excellence from Ingram Micro for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts in relation to mainframe access security.
  • In 2007 he received an Exceptional Performance Award from a Fortune 100 company in Orange County.

Associate Professor for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a member of the faculty staff since 1998, Mr. Stein instructs and develops programs for undergraduate and graduate students.  Mr. Stein is presently writing a book addressing aviation lessons learned which is scheduled to be published in the spring of 2008. 

A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Mr. Stein holds numerous certifications in Information Technology and Aviation.  He attained a Masters Degree in Information Systems from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA and is pursuing graduate studies in Aerospace Systems at Embry-Riddle.

Mr. Stein is President of GreyHawk Enterprises in Orange, California.  His company’s focus is broad, but encompasses Program and Project Management, Business Continuity Planning and Training, Commercial Aviation and Industrial Safety, Aerospace, Information Technology, and the Electronic Industries.  He is originally from Springfield, PA and now resides in Orange, CA.  While he is active in his local community he is also motivational speaker and a Naval Academy Mentor assisting young men and women to achieve admission to the Academy.
